UPSTAGE! 'Take 1'
Firstly a massive welcome to all of the new members of Powerplay. I have been overwhelmed by all of the talent and enthusiasm that has walked through my doors over the past 3 months. Even though I have been running Powerplay as a non profit competition company for over 6 years, this is a new business venture I hope to develop over the coming years! I am so lucky to be able to say that I love coming to work. I really do love what I do and gives me great pleasure to teach all of the students everything I know whether it will help them develop confidence and social skills, encourage them to get the best out of any given situation, help them on the road to a successful career in Performing Arts or just for the love of having fun in class!
This is just the beginning of Powerplay and there are lots of exciting things to come as the company becomes more established. Classes will fill and new classes will be opened!

AUTUMN TIMETABLE
THERE WILL BE NO CLASSES FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER: This is while students find their feet in their new classes or new schools, and settle into the academic year. As a former teacher I find this a crucial month for all students especially those who are moving to a new school.
Classes will run for 11 weeks from October til just before Christmas AS FOLLOWS
Wednesday Classes: Saturday Classes:
FIRST CLASS: Wed 3rd October FIRST CLASS: Sat 6th October
LAST CLASS: Wed 12th December LAST CLASS: Sat 15th December
4-5pm - 4-7 years 12-2pm - 12+ years
5-6pm - 8-11years 2-3pm - 4-7 years
3-4pm - 8-11years
All students will be working towards a Christmas Presentation which will be held on the last day of term. More details of times to follow nearer the time.

NEW PAYMENT SCHEME FOR CLASSES
As you are aware most performing arts schools in the area ask for at least a terms worth of fees in advance, which I never intend to do so that the classes remain a lot more affordable, but to make it a simpler task for paying for classes, I would ask that ALL parents or students pay for classes for a month (4 weeks) in advance.
For this Autumn Term, you will only need to make 3 payments
1 x 4 weeks (payable in week 1- 3rd or 6th Oct)
1 x 4 weeks (payable in week 5- 31st October or 3rd Nov)
1 x 3 weeks (payable in week 9- 28th Nov or 1st Dec)
I hope this will also encourage the students to attend every week where possible and get the most out of the classes. If you are going away on a long holiday during the term and will miss a few weeks in a row or need to talk to me about anything then please speak to me, email me or call/text me and we will arrange something for your payments. Thankyou for your co-operation in paying weekly while everything has been coming together.

POWERPLAY BODYSHOP COFFEE MORNING
HOST YOUR OWN BODYSHOP PARTY
Some of you may be aware that my sister is a Bodyshop at home consultant and runs the most fantastic bodyshop parties. So I am organising a Powerplay Bodyshop coffee morning for all of the mums, grans, sisters, aunties and older students (dad's if you wish) to come along and get to know each other.... having some bodyshop fun. There will be lots of prizes to be won and plenty of offers on for you to indulge yourself or get ready for those christmas presents for family and friends!
Ticket are available in class for £1 and when you arrive at the bodyshop party you will receive a token to claim your £1 back from a powerplay class.
Who wants £25 Free Bodyshop products? There are 2 ways to get it….
1. Host your own Bodyshop at home party for free Gather the girls and Emily will come with loads of products for you all to try. You will receive a makeover and when party sales reach £150 you will receive £25 FREE shopping!!! A good excuse for a girly night!!
2. Party in a bag (for those who can’t accommodate an at home party) Emily will give you lots of catalogues and order forms and latest offers. IN CLASS THIS TERM!!
I am so proud of all of the students this term, every single student has improved in some way already and are making the classes so enjoyable for me and to all my helpers!!

AMY'S LITTLE STARS OF THE WEEK
In the 4-7 group every week, there is a star of the week who wins a honeybee sparkly sticker and gets to take their 'HONEYBEE' mascot home for the week.... he has been on some crazy adventures this term and I would like to congratulate all those little stars who got to take HoneyBee home. He is looking forward to having lots more adventures next term!!
I am slowly putting together a book of all of his journeys, from the pictures and stories you bring back every week.
THE OLDER GROUPS
The 8-11 group, the 12+ group and the Show Group, Every year, will work towards winning Theatre Tickets... by showing their improvement throughout the year and commitment to the group.
Powerplay supports Happy Faces Children's Charity and every Wednesday at 8pm up until classes start in October the show group perform in the town Hall in Llandudno along side some fantastic acts of singing, comedy and magic, raising money for this wonderful charity. Tickets are only £6 and its all for charity. Come down and support us in an amazing cause and watch the showgroup in action, performing songs from Hairspray, Billy Elliot, Bugsy Malone and Crazy for you!
Powerplay will be helping and performing at lots of charity events throughout the year so there will be lots of opportunities for the students to join us.

2013
Next year the students will be working towards a big variety performance to raise money towards the plans for 2014 and also to help our charity for the year, Happy Faces Children's Charity. A local charity that is just amazing. This show will be performed by all students, amalgamating all 3 classes and giving them the chance to shine.
2014
My aim is for this to be the year that Powerplay will perform its first full musical in a theatre! It will be hard work and a challenge to raise the funds to put on our first show, but after the first one is in the bag then Powerplay as a company can offer an annual musical for the students to be a part of!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my mum & dad, my sister, my boyfriend and all my friends for their never ending support whilst I have been setting up Powerplay to follow my dream of running my very own successful musical theatre company.
I hope all my students have a great start to their new school year and will see you all in October for another action packed term!
